Eagle Creek Campout

A few weeks ago Justin went on a camp out with the Young Men to a campground at Eagle Creek. They parked their cars and started on the 6 mile hike into their campground...

When it started raining. A steady, cold rain. The boys trudged on. When they were planning this hike Justin brought up the weather report and was met with blank stares. You don't reschedule events due to rain in Portland. You just go.

So they went. Justin helped the younger boys who hadn't packed everything they needed- sharing his hat and gloves.

They set up tents and ate dinner in the rain, then shivered into their sleeping bags. One leader had a steady stream of water running through his tent and under his pad all night.

The rain didnt stop all night long.

It was quite an experience. When Justin got home EVERYTHING he was wearing and his entire pack were soaked. His feet were wrinkled and pruny from being wet for hours.

But look at the pictures he got! Oregon is so beautiful. Sometimes it reminds me of a rainforest.

This picture of the boys the next morning sums up their experience. We just keep laughing at it.
