So as my calling is specifically over the Relief Society activities myself and my committee (uh, my friend Paige) planned the annual birthday dinner last week. It turned out really well actually.
We kept the decorations simple- balloons with a homemade pennant banner made with black and white photos from the history of the Relief Society. Plus cherry blossoms just clipped off a tree for centerpieces.
For dinner we had a biscuit bar- buttermilk biscuits with a variety of jams and jellies and then roasted ham and turkey with mayo and mustard and vegetables so that the ladies could make their own sandwiches with the biscuits or just eat it on the side.
And for the program we introduced each of the 16 General Relief Society Presidents of the church since its founding and asked sisters to represent them and deliver a quote from their time serving. It went really well and everyone enjoyed it.
