Elowah Falls

On Sunday when Conference was finished we packed a picnic supper and headed again out into the gorge. There are many waterfalls that are just a short hike from the old highway. We've found a few of them already and next on our list was Elowah Falls. It was 8/10 of a mile up the mountain so we got some exercise and the weather was beautiful.

And then on our way back to Portland we discovered Horsetail Falls:

This place and it's beautiful but apparently you have to ford the river at one point in the short hike in water sometimes chest-high! We'll come back late in the summer when the river is low to see if we can attempt it with the kids.

Oregon is certainly beautiful and we're certainly enjoying exploring it!
