Today is his day so that meant:
letting him play with the laundry basket.
(clean clothes toppled onto the floor)
letting him watch Octonauts while he ate his breakfast.
(chocolate milk on the couch)
helping him look for his plastic toy shark when he saw a shark on the t.v.
("sha!")
then adding "dollar store" to my list of errands when we couldn't find it.
(so excited to find another 'sha'!)
letting him walk in the parking lot like a big boy.
("watch out for cars!" "hold my hand!" "don't drop your shark!")
letting him eat a biscuit for lunch.
(strawberry jam on my shirt)
and lick a spoon full of frosting while I frosted his birthday cake.
(spoon later found under Audrey's bed)
The name David is Hebrew and it means Beloved. We could not have chosen a more appropriate name for our boy. Beloved is a understatement. He's been so loved from that very first miracle moment that we found out I was pregnant. Then we found out he was a boy. Then when he was born he stopped crying and looked at me when he heard my voice. Then he had his Dad's eyes and my hair. Then we found out he had the sweetest little mischevious personality. Then he called me "Mommy" and counts everything "two, two, wee"...
.....the miracles just keep on coming.
Davy, you certainly are beloved by all of us. And we love having your in our family. You're my son. My happy, brave, exuberant boy. And I know that everyday I have with you (even looking for sharks and wiping jam off my shirt) is a miracle.
Happy Birthday.
love, Mom
